How a small Australian removalists company got big

As we celebrate 20 years as Australian removalists, you probably wouldn’t have guessed that we started out as a small removals company based in Caboolture with only four trucks. Even though we stemmed from a large, established New Zealand company, all we had was what we’d learned about the trade. So, making a mark in the Australian removals industry was always going to be as big and challenging as the county itself.

While we were limited to being local removalists, we didn’t accept there was a standard way things had to be done. We also took the moral standpoint that we’d never charge anyone more than we quoted. This has been an issue in the industry as loads are often larger at pickup than originally anticipated. We operated with a passion to do things right and to do good work for a fair dollar.

If you’ve ever moved – and how many of us haven’t at one time or another – you’ll know that moving isn’t as simple as having some strong blokes carry your stuff. Moving is stressful – on par with a relationship breakup – so you want those strong blokes to treat you with respect and to complete the work without any fuss.

With this in mind during every move we made, we went from little, local removalists to a new Townsville based operation where we established a wider network across Australia. It was at that point we could call ourselves true interstate removalists, establishing branches across Australia to move Australians as far as they needed to go, including overseas and back.

Our pioneering spirit has also been a key part of becoming a major Australian removals company. We have a number of world firsts to our name. Those of you who have had your move done by truck and train will appreciate the convenience, efficiency and safer handling of your possessions over long distance. Those of you who have been able to post feedback on our website about your move – good, bad or indifferent – have also taken part in a world first.

That’s the kind of company we aspire to be: honest and honourable in all our dealings. Giving our customers a transparent view of the experiences of others helps us to provide better and better service.

It has been our privilege to serve Australia for two decades. We’re looking forward to doing so for many more to come.
