St Kilda West

There’s a reason the average house price clears the $2 million mark in St Kilda West. It’s one of the most desirable suburbs for professional people and their families. Every house is walking distance to schools, parks and the commute to the CBD is a comfortable 30 minutes or less. Plus, it’s right on the beach front.

Seaholme

Located 13 kilometres south west of the city, the more affordable suburb of Seaholme is rich with heritage and modern homes in walking distance to schools and parks. Commute times to the CBD are 40 minutes or less. With excellent medical facilities, it’s a great place for people of all ages.

South Melbourne

South Melbourne is near the beach and Yarra River, tucked away from the city hustle and bustle, but only two kilometres from the CBD. Characterised by terraced homes, it has a thriving food scene and the famous South Melbourne food market.

Elwood

Often considered a town in itself, Elwood has lovely heritage homes, a vibrant food scene and wide avenues with old plane trees and wine bars. Despite feeling apart from the city, Elwood is only 8 kilometres to the CBD. In January, it wakes up with the buzz of the Australian Open.

Windsor

Popular with young professionals, Windsor is perfect for people who want a quiet life in the suburbs with easy access to the excitement of the CBD. The famous shopping strip Chapel Street runs through Windsor, providing locals with entertainment, restaurants, bars and cafes.

Spotswood

Spotswood is a suburb in Hobson’s Bay, home to the famous Scienceworks interactive museum and just 7 kilometres from the CBD. It’s ideal for families with affordable housing, good education facilities and plenty of green spaces to get outdoors.

Williamstown

Williamstown would be a candidate for the prettiest suburb west of the city. It boasts an impressive high street for shopping and is a short commute to the CBD. It also has an enviable maritime vibe being right on the bay.

St Kilda

Regardless of the stereotypes attached to Victoria’s most famous suburb, St Kilda has a lot to like as a place to call home. St Kilda is close to the beach, a short tram ride to the city and buzzing with culture, entertainment and places to eat.

Port Melbourne

Located on the fringe of the CBD, Port Melbourne has all the advantages of living close to the city without the traffic. There’s a home for everyone in Port Melbourne, with apartment blocks and units for first home buyers right through to penthouses and vintage properties.

Albert Park

Despite the price tag required to buy in Albert Park, it’s very close to the city and has a relaxed, beachside vibe where everything is within walking distance. Oozing with Victorian charm, St Albert has a host of facilities, schools, shops and places to eat out.
